“Who Is Afraid Of Primaries?” — Aisha Yesufu Challenges Rivals In FCT Race

Socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has urged her supporters not to be distracted by smear campaigns on social media ahead of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Naija News reports that Yesufu made the appeal in a post shared on her X account on Wednesday while addressing NDC members and her supporters.

She dismissed ongoing propaganda against her, insisting that elections are won through meaningful engagement with voters rooted in empathy, compassion and respect, not through online attacks.

“Election is not won through social media propaganda or coordinated smear campaigns. Victory comes from respectfully engaging the people you seek to serve with empathy and compassion,” she stated.

Yesufu encouraged registered NDC members in the FCT to stay committed to strengthening the party and electing candidates capable of truly representing their interests.

According to her, the time for making political decisions out of fear is over, stressing that voters should now choose leaders based on courage and the belief that power ultimately belongs to the people.

She also called on her supporters to intensify mobilisation efforts across the 62 wards in the FCT, declaring that her camp was fully prepared for the primaries.

“To my numerous supporters across the FCT, do not be discouraged. Continue your grassroots mobilisation across the 62 wards. We are ready to face them at the primaries,” she added.

Reaffirming her position, Yesufu asked: “Who is afraid of primaries?”
