‘Refund My Presidential Nomination Fee’ – DLA Aspirant Resigns From Party

A 2027 presidential aspirant of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Mrs Abisayo Busari-Akinnadeju, has resigned from the party and demanded a refund of the money paid for her presidential nomination form.

Busari-Akinnadeju disclosed her decision in a resignation letter addressed to the party’s National Chairman, citing what she described as the DLA’s failure to organise a transparent and credible primary election process.

She expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s decision to adopt a consensus candidate, describing the move as damaging to the party’s democratic values and future growth.

According to her, she chose to step down because she was denied the opportunity to participate in a fair contest and could no longer support a process that allegedly ignored the party’s own rules.

The former party chieftain also requested official confirmation of her resignation and the refund of her presidential nomination fee, arguing that the party failed to provide the fair primary process for which the payment was made.

In addition, she asked the party to return any personal documents or materials belonging to her that may still be in its possession.

Busari-Akinnadeju thanked supporters and members of the party across the country who backed her political ambition, noting that they were not responsible for her decision to leave the party.

Despite her resignation, she maintained that her commitment to the 2027 presidential race and her “Dare Nigeria” agenda remains strong.

She stated that recent developments within the party had only strengthened her determination to continue her political mission on what she described as a more credible platform.

The Ondo-born politician further argued that a political party unable to conduct a fair internal primary election could not convincingly promise fairness and good governance to Nigerians.

Busari-Akinnadeju hails from Akungba Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
