I Defeated Okowa in 97 of 98 Wards, APC Must Respect Members’ Mandate – Ned Nwoko

Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko, has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to uphold the mandate he says was overwhelmingly given to him by party members during the Delta North senatorial primary election.

In a statement released through his media office, Nwoko claimed he secured a landslide victory over former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, winning in 97 of the 98 wards across the senatorial district.

According to the lawmaker, he polled about 123,000 votes compared to the 6,000 votes he alleged were recorded by Okowa during the primary exercise.

Nwoko urged the APC National Working Committee and other party leaders to resist any attempt to overturn the outcome of the election, warning that doing so would undermine the democratic will of party members.

He argued that reversing the result would amount to disregarding the wishes of thousands of APC members who participated in the primary and could damage confidence in the party’s internal democratic process.

The senator further maintained that the results of the exercise could be independently verified through video recordings gathered from the various wards where voting took place.

“I defeated Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in 97 out of 98 wards by a wide margin, and there is extensive video evidence from across the district to support the outcome,” Nwoko stated.

He also questioned the credibility of alternative figures allegedly submitted by a panel, insisting that authenticated video evidence from all 98 wards provides a more reliable account of the election results.
