AGAIN : Nollywood in Mourning as Popular Yoruba Actor Janmole Passes Away

The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into grief following reports of the death of renowned actor and comedian Adeshina Okiki Oshin, widely known by his stage name, Janmole.

According to reports, news of the entertainer’s passing surfaced on June 1 after an Ibadan-based radio station announced the development through its social media platforms.

In a Facebook post, the station described Janmole as a versatile actor, filmmaker, and comedian whose impact on the Yoruba film industry would not be forgotten.

“Sad news has struck the Yoruba movie industry as talented actor, filmmaker, and comedian Adeshina Okiki Oshin, popularly known as Janmole, is reported to have passed away,” the statement read.

The station also expressed sympathy to his family, friends, the people of Okeho, and the broader Nollywood community during this difficult period.

At the time of this report, no official statement had been issued regarding the cause of his death.

The news came as a surprise to many fans and colleagues, particularly because Janmole had previously survived a serious accident more than a year ago. His recovery from the incident had brought relief and renewed hope to supporters who feared for his safety at the time.

His reported death adds to the recent losses recorded in the Nigerian film industry, coming shortly after the deaths of Patrick Okoye and veteran Yoruba actor Fesogboye Oyewole, further deepening the sense of mourning within Nollywood.
