Gunmen Attack Oyo Immigration Office, Seize Officers’ Firearms

Unknown gunmen reportedly invaded an immigration office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, and disarmed officers on duty during a late-night attack.

The incident, which reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, saw the assailants storm the facility and make away with firearms belonging to immigration personnel.

Sources within Ogbomoso confirmed the attack, according to reports. However, as of the time of this report, the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.

Meanwhile, in a separate security-related incident, gunmen reportedly killed two police officers along the Amansea–Ndiora–Ndiukwuenu–Awa–Ufuma Road in Anambra State on Sunday night.

The officers were said to have been returning from an assignment when they were ambushed near Orumba South Local Government Area. Witnesses claimed the attackers had concealed themselves in nearby bushes before opening fire on the policemen.

The attack triggered panic among residents and commuters in the area. A tricycle operator who witnessed the aftermath said he abandoned his vehicle and fled after hearing gunshots, only to later discover that two officers had been fatally shot and left lying on the road.
