Tunde Ednut Goes Silent Online Amid Allegations Of DSS Investigation Targeting Him, VDM

Popular social media influencer and blogger Tunde Ednut has remained inactive on social media for more than 10 hours, sparking speculation after allegations surfaced that security operatives were seeking information about him and controversial activist Martins Vincent Otse.

A review of Tunde Ednut’s Instagram page showed an unusual period of inactivity, with no new posts shared during the time in question.

The development followed claims by humanitarian advocate Livinus Nwosu, who alleged that he was arrested by security operatives in Bayelsa State while attempting to register as a voter.

According to Nwosu, he was later released after being questioned by authorities.

In a video shared online, VDM disclosed that Nwosu contacted him after his release and alleged that officials of the Department of State Services had focused much of their interrogation on him and Tunde Ednut.

VDM shared screenshots of messages purportedly sent by Nwosu, in which he claimed security operatives repeatedly asked questions about his relationship with both men, how often they communicated, and whether VDM had directed him to participate in certain campaigns.

The messages also alleged that authorities were attempting to obtain information that could be used against the social media personalities. Nwosu further claimed he was compelled to sign an undertaking restricting certain forms of advocacy and online activity.

Reacting to the allegations, VDM, who stated that he is currently outside Nigeria, warned against the harassment or arrest of his associates. He also disclosed plans to return to the country, insisting that he was not intimidated by the possibility of being arrested.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the DSS regarding the allegations.
