Moment Nasarawa residents burn Gov. Sule’s campaign posters {VIDEO}

Tension erupted in Kofan Kaura, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Friday as some residents were seen burning campaign posters linked to Governor Abdullahi Sule’s 2027 senatorial ambition.

In the footage circulating online, the agitated residents also set fire to All Progressives Congress (APC) flags, along with brooms— the party’s symbol.

The video was accompanied by chants such as “We reject rigging” and “We reject imposition,” reflecting their displeasure over the development.

Reports indicate that Governor Sule had earlier publicly stated on national television that he would not pursue any elective office after completing his tenure, but later entered the race for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat.

He is currently serving his second and final term as governor and recently secured the APC senatorial ticket after polling 47,393 votes, defeating his closest rival, Silas Agara, who scored 2,915 votes.

The situation has continued to generate reactions across the state.
