Retired Major General John Enenche has disagreed with the suggestion by Enoch Adeboye that Nigeria’s Service Chiefs should be given a 90-day ultimatum to end terrorism or resign.
Naija News reports that Adeboye recently urged the Federal Government to mandate the country’s security chiefs to eliminate terrorist threats within three months or step down from their positions.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday, Enenche argued that replacing Service Chiefs is not the answer to Nigeria’s prolonged security challenges.
According to the retired military officer, frequent changes in military leadership would do little to resolve the country’s decade-long insecurity problem.
He maintained that the focus should be on taking security matters more seriously and implementing practical measures to tackle the threat rather than continually replacing those in charge.
Enenche stressed that insecurity requires urgent and sustained action, warning that failure to address it effectively could allow the crisis to persist across successive administrations.
He added that Nigerians must collectively treat security as a top priority, insisting that decisive action is needed now to prevent the situation from worsening further.
