Lagos Police Command Mourns Passing of DCP Khan Salihu

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of its Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Khan Salihu.

The senior police officer reportedly passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, although the exact cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed.

According to sources at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Salihu complained of fatigue after returning from the mosque on Sunday and requested permission to rest at home. He was later taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Confirming the development, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, described the late officer’s death as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos State Command.

In a statement, the Command praised Salihu’s dedication, professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service, noting that his leadership and administrative expertise contributed immensely to the effective management of the Command.

The police further stated that news of his passing came as a shock to officers and personnel, who remembered him as a disciplined and dependable officer throughout his distinguished career.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, extended condolences to the deceased officer’s family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones, praying for the strength to bear the loss and for the repose of his soul.

The Command noted that DCP Salihu’s legacy of humility, professionalism, and selfless service would continue to inspire officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
