BREAKING : Premier League 2026/27 Fixtures Announced

Defending champions Arsenal will begin their 2026/27 Premier League title defence with a home clash against newly promoted Coventry City on Friday, August 21, at the Emirates Stadium.

The opening fixture will see Mikel Arteta’s side, fresh from ending a 22-year wait for the league title, face Frank Lampard’s Championship-winning Coventry outfit. Arsenal’s early schedule also includes challenging encounters against Aston Villa and Chelsea.

The new Premier League season will feature six live opening-weekend matches, including Liverpool’s first league game under new manager Andoni Iraola. The Reds travel to Newcastle United on Sunday, August 23, before facing Manchester City and Arsenal in October and rivals Manchester United and Everton in November.

Among the standout opening fixtures are London derbies involving Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Fulham and Chelsea. Tottenham, who have endured consecutive 17th-place finishes, also face a demanding run-in, with late-season fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Manchester City’s first campaign since the departure of Pep Guardiola begins at home against Bournemouth. However, the former champions face a difficult start, with their opening matches against last season’s top-five teams all coming away from home.

Promoted sides Hull City, Ipswich Town and Coventry City return to the top flight with tough opening assignments. Hull host Manchester United, while Ipswich welcome Sunderland and Coventry travel to Arsenal.

Statistics suggest Manchester United have the most favourable start to the season under Michael Carrick, despite an early Manchester derby in September. Sunderland, meanwhile, face the toughest opening run based on last season’s standings.

The festive schedule has been adjusted to ease fixture congestion, with clubs guaranteed a minimum 60-hour break between matches during the Christmas and New Year period. Fans can also expect a full programme of Boxing Day fixtures.

The Premier League has also cautioned supporters that fixture dates and kick-off times may be altered throughout the campaign due to the involvement of nine English clubs in UEFA competitions. League officials said scheduling changes could be required, particularly if clubs advance to the latter stages of European tournaments.
