Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has backed Ghana to secure at least a point against England in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group L clash.
Despite the fierce rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana, Troost-Ekong said he wants African teams to perform well on the global stage and praised the Black Stars’ resilient display in their 1-0 victory over Panama.
The retired defender highlighted the positive impact of substitutes Brandon Thomas-Asante and Abdul Fatawu and believes Ghana can capitalize on weaknesses in England’s defence. While acknowledging England’s strong attacking quality, Troost-Ekong predicted a draw, saying he expects both teams to find the net.
