Kwara Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Relieves Deputy Chief of Staff, PPS, Others of Duties

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle, relieving several political appointees, including his Deputy Chief of Staff and Principal Private Secretary, of their appointments.

The decision was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Governor’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood Agboola.

According to the statement, the reshuffle also affects all Special Advisers (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and Special Assistants (SAs) serving in the administration.

Governor AbdulRazaq explained that the exercise was aimed at creating opportunities for more members of the ruling party to contribute to governance while injecting fresh ideas and renewed energy into his administration.

He directed all affected officials to hand over government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) without delay.

The governor also expressed appreciation to the outgoing appointees for their commitment and contributions to the development of Kwara State, wishing them success in their future endeavours.

APC Governorship Aspirants Petition Tinubu

Meanwhile, ten governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have petitioned President Bola Tinubu, raising concerns over what they described as a worsening crisis within the party.

In the petition addressed to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the aspirants alleged that Governor AbdulRazaq had lost the political and moral authority to determine the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 general election.

They warned that unless urgent intervention comes from the party’s national leadership, the APC risks deeper internal divisions in the state.

The petition was jointly signed by Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi, Capt. Ahmad Mahmud, Alhaji Tajudeen Audu, Dr. Azeez Salako, Muideen Olaniyi, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki Gambari, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Hon. Omar Muhammed Bio, Dele Belgore (SAN), and Senator Yahaya Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

Despite their grievances, the aspirants reaffirmed their loyalty and support for President Tinubu and his administration.
