The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said that no government can provide lasting peace, insisting that true peace can only come from God.
Speaking during a church service in Warri, Delta State, the renowned cleric urged Christians not to place their hope for inner peace in earthly institutions, describing peace as a divine gift.
According to Oyedepo, while governments have the responsibility of ensuring security and good governance, genuine peace of mind and lasting tranquillity are only found through a personal relationship with God.
“No government in this world can give you peace, neither can you find it in the market. It is only God that can give you peace,” he told the congregation.
He encouraged worshippers to strengthen their faith and seek God’s presence in every aspect of their lives.
Calls on Church Members to Participate in 2027 Elections
In a separate message delivered during a service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, Bishop Oyedepo urged members of his church to actively participate in the 2027 general elections.
Preaching a sermon titled “Breaking the Curses of Life,” the cleric said the numerical strength of the church gives it a significant voice in determining the country’s future leadership.
He encouraged members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the elections, stressing that participating in the electoral process is both a civic duty and a constitutional right.
Oyedepo said Christians should not remain indifferent to political affairs but should contribute to shaping the leadership of the nation through the ballot.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations. We are not passers-by in our nation. We are bona fide citizens, and we have the right to participate in who governs us,” he said.
He added that with millions of members, the church has the capacity to influence the country’s democratic process and urged worshippers to play an active role in the upcoming elections.
