Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is set to undergo the first of three scheduled surgeries next week after receiving financial support from Nigerians following her public appeal for assistance.
The update was shared by her management via Instagram, two days after the actress disclosed that she was battling an undisclosed illness.
Nwosu had earlier revealed that she required three life-saving surgeries estimated to cost about ₦30 million and appealed to the public for financial help.
According to her management, the response from fans, friends, and well-wishers has been overwhelming and encouraging.
They expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed through donations, prayers, messages, and other acts of support since the appeal was made.
The management confirmed that the assistance received so far has enabled significant progress in her treatment and that preparations are underway for her first surgery, which is expected to take place next week.
Despite the progress, they noted that additional financial support is still needed to cover the remaining medical expenses.
They also urged Nigerians and supporters around the world to continue praying for the actress, sharing her story, and offering financial assistance where possible.
In their statement, the management thanked the public for the outpouring of love and support, adding that Ngozi Nwosu is in good condition and looking forward to her first surgery while expressing hope that continued assistance will help fund the remaining stages of her treatment.
