Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is reportedly growing frustrated with Vinicius Junior as contract renewal talks have stalled, amid claims the Brazilian forward wants wages comparable to those of Kylian Mbappé.
The 25-year-old’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu has become increasingly uncertain, with negotiations over a new deal reportedly hitting a deadlock despite earlier expectations that an extension would be agreed without difficulty.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, one of the major obstacles is Vinicius’ reported demand for a €15 million signing bonus, a figure Real Madrid are unwilling to meet.
The report also suggests the club are already planning for the future by pursuing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who is represented by the same agency as Vinicius.
Both players are clients of Roc Nation, with the agency expected in Madrid to finalize the proposed €120 million transfer of Diomande to the Spanish club. Pérez had previously highlighted that transfer fee during his election campaign.
While Diomande’s move is reportedly close to completion, Vinicius’ contract situation remains unresolved as negotiations continue. No agreement has yet been reached between the Spanish giants and the Brazilian international over an extension to his current deal.
