Nigerian content creator and founder of the GehGeh School of Marriage, GehGeh, has addressed the criticism trailing the emergence of videos from his wedding to his partner, Mary.
The social media personality, whose private wedding ceremony reportedly took place on Saturday, has faced widespread backlash online, with many accusing him of contradicting his long-held views on marriage.
Several fans and celebrities have criticized the move, with some claiming his teachings negatively influenced their relationships and perceptions of marriage.
Reacting to the controversy, GehGeh challenged his followers, particularly those enrolled in his online School of Marriage, to provide evidence that he had ever advised people against getting married.
Taking to X, he wrote: “I never for once told y’all not to get married. Did I? If yes, show me a video of me telling you not to marry.”
His post quickly sparked fresh reactions, as social media users shared older clips in which he allegedly declared he would never marry or maintain a romantic relationship, while describing marriage as a “financial mistake” and a “scam.”
The resurfaced videos have further fueled the online debate, with many questioning the consistency between his previous statements and his recent marriage.
