Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni has criticised the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, for failing to clearly explain how he intends to tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
Speaking on Monday after Obi’s appearance on Channels Television, Oseni said the former Anambra State governor focused more on promises than concrete policy plans, stressing that Nigerians deserve detailed explanations of how candidates intend to implement their agendas.
According to him, with the general election drawing closer, presidential hopefuls should have already unveiled comprehensive manifestos and practical policy frameworks rather than relying on broad campaign promises.
Oseni argued that voters should assess the feasibility of candidates’ ideas instead of listening to repeated pledges. “We can’t run a country on vibes,” he said, urging politicians to explain the methodology behind their proposals.
He also faulted candidates who promise to end insecurity without outlining their overall strategy, noting that Nigerians are not asking for sensitive operational details but clear policy direction.
The broadcaster further called for more technical discussions on key sectors such as electricity, questioning how candidates plan to improve power generation, strengthen transmission infrastructure, and finance critical investments needed to boost electricity supply.
