Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has accused the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of making false claims over a recent incident at the airport.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Keyamo alleged that Obi deliberately fabricated the story for political gain.
The minister claimed that Obi falsely alleged he was harassed by airport officials because of his status as an opposition figure, insisting the accusation unfairly portrayed civil servants without allowing the authorities to verify the facts.
Keyamo questioned the fairness of making such allegations against airport personnel without first giving the ministry an opportunity to investigate the incident.
His remarks come days after he issued a seven-day ultimatum to Obi, demanding an apology to staff of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as well as the payment of a fine over alleged violations of airport parking regulations.
