Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has publicly addressed fans for the first time following months of reported hospitalisation after a shooting incident during a film production.
The comedian was reportedly injured in March while filming near the Sango Ota Bridge in Ogun State. Reports at the time indicated that he sustained a leg injury and was first taken to a hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, before being transferred to another medical facility in Ikeja for further treatment.
After staying away from public engagements for several months, Broda Shaggi broke his silence with a heartfelt message on his WhatsApp channel, expressing gratitude to fans and supporters who continued to show him love and concern throughout his absence.
He admitted he had not been able to connect with his audience as he would have liked but said their unwavering support had strengthened him during a difficult period.
“To everyone who’s still here⦠waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you,” he wrote.
The entertainer explained that while he was not yet ready to reveal everything that had happened, he had never forgotten his supporters and looked forward to returning to the spotlight.
He assured fans that he hopes to share his story at the right time and promised to make a stronger comeback.
“When that day comes, I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time,” he said.
Broda Shaggi concluded by thanking his followers for their patience, loyalty and continued support, saying their encouragement meant more to him than words could express.
