The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has announced that she will be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Saint James Anglican Church, Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
In a statement posted on the actress’ official Instagram page on Friday, the family disclosed that mourners are expected to wear white to the funeral service.
The burial announcement follows the death of the 40-year-old actress, whose passing has left the Nigerian film industry and her fans in mourning.
Ahead of the funeral, friends and colleagues have scheduled a candlelight procession and artistes’ night in her honour. The memorial event, themed “An Evening of Love, Music & Memories,” will take place on Tuesday, August 11, at LTV 8 Blueroof, Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together family, colleagues, friends and admirers to celebrate her life and career.
Osoba’s death was announced on Wednesday by fellow Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni, who paid tribute to her as his “dearest sister.”
The actress was widely recognised for her roles in Yoruba-language Nollywood films. Her passing came about two years after she revealed she was battling cancer and appealed for financial support for treatment. After recovering, she returned to acting in August 2025, saying the experience had strengthened her commitment to healing and advocacy.
Following speculation linking her death to her previous illness, Osoba’s family urged the public to stop spreading unverified reports about the cause of her death. They stressed that no authorised statement had been issued on the circumstances surrounding her passing and appealed for privacy as they grieve.
