Nigerian singer Harrison Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has admitted that his prolonged rift with former label boss Kcee negatively impacted his music career, particularly his creativity.
According to Naija News, the fallout between Harrysong and Kcee’s 5ive Star Music became public in 2017 after the Delta State–born artiste accused the label of withholding his royalties, treating him unfairly and restricting his creative freedom.
The dispute later escalated when Harrysong claimed he contributed to writing several hit songs performed by Kcee, sparking repeated exchanges between both parties.
Speaking during an interview on Jusmen 105.7 FM, Harrysong said the conflict frequently distracted him from making music.
He explained that instead of focusing on recording, his attention was often diverted to figuring out how to respond to Kcee, which slowed his progress and reduced his creative output.
The singer disclosed that the long-standing issue has now been resolved, with himself, Kcee and 5ive Star Music settling their differences.
He also noted that personal growth has helped him learn how to better handle public disputes.
According to Harrysong, controversies no longer interfere with his work, as he now has a stronger mindset that allows him to focus fully on his music and career development.
“The feud with Kcee used to distract me and affect my music. Most times, instead of recording, I would be thinking about how to reply him and continue the fight. It really affected my creativity,” he said.
