Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his impressive goalscoring form as Galatasaray defeated Konyaspor 4-0 away from home in the Turkish Süper Lig on Friday.
The Nigerian international opened the scoring in the 12th minute, rising above the Konyaspor defense to head home a well-delivered cross from Gabriel Sara at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium.
Galatasaray maintained their attacking momentum, with Yunus Akgün doubling the advantage in the 28th minute before Sara extended the lead three minutes later.
Aleksey Batrakov added another goal in the 49th minute, while Rafael Leão converted a penalty in the 55th minute to seal the victory.
The result marked another impressive performance from the Turkish champions, who continued their winning run following a 2-1 triumph over arch-rivals Fenerbahçe in Monday’s Istanbul derby.
Osimhen was also the standout performer in that encounter, scoring both goals to secure victory for Galatasaray.
With his latest strike against Konyaspor, the Nigerian forward increased his league goals tally to nine this season, further demonstrating his importance to the team’s attacking strength.
Galatasaray entered Friday’s fixture at the top of the league standings with 22 points from nine matches. The emphatic victory further strengthened their position in the title race.
