Ghanaian actress and fashion personality Nana Akua Addo has publicly announced her separation from her husband, Harold Norman, following allegations of domestic violence that reportedly left her hospitalized.
The announcement comes weeks after reports emerged that the 42-year-old actress was allegedly assaulted by her husband during a domestic dispute. Addo subsequently confirmed the incident, disclosing that the matter had been reported to the police for investigation.
The Ghana Police Service also confirmed that an investigation was ongoing, explaining that Norman’s hospitalization had delayed his arraignment in connection with the alleged assault.
Since the incident, the actress had largely remained away from public appearances until Friday, October 30, when she made a remarkable return to the spotlight at Lagos Fashion Week 2026.
Addo walked the runway for fashion designer Sevonda Jana, attracting attention not only for her appearance but also for the symbolic message behind her outfit.
The mother of two closed the fashion show wearing a wedding gown, which she later explained represented the end of a significant chapter in her marriage and her willingness to embrace a fresh beginning.
Sharing pictures and reflections from the event on Instagram, the actress described the runway appearance as more than an ordinary fashion presentation.
She wrote: “Last night, I walked into my moment and gave the runway a finale to remember. I closed the show in a wedding gown, just as I closed a chapter in my own story.
“Perhaps there is something beautiful about endings, new beginnings, and the courage to embrace both. Closing @sevondejana at Lagos Fashion Week 2026 was more than a walk for me. That statement truly had to be made. Some chapters end, but the woman always remains the story.”
Her appearance has attracted attention, with many interpreting the wedding gown as a symbolic declaration of her decision to move forward without her husband.
Although Addo has now confirmed the separation, the legal proceedings surrounding the domestic violence allegations remain a separate matter. The allegations have yet to be established through a final judicial determination.
