Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has once again spoken out about the child sexual abuse case that led to his imprisonment, maintaining his innocence and alleging that he was deliberately set up by people who conspired against him.
The actor made fresh claims during an interview with Agbaletu Uncensored, where he strongly rejected the description of him as a paedophile. According to him, he did not even understand the meaning of the term until he was incarcerated.
“I am not a paedophile. I don’t even know what it means until I was in prison,” he said.
Baba Ijesha also questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, disputing the account of events that became central to the case. He claimed that he had never previously visited the house where he was allegedly captured on camera.
“The house where I was caught on camera, I have never been there before,” the actor insisted.
Reflecting on the allegations while in prison, he recalled being accused of using a key to deflower a seven-year-old girl. He said he responded by invoking his own daughter, challenging his accusers to subject her to the same treatment if they genuinely believed he was guilty.
“They said I used a key to deflower a seven-year-old. I told them I also have a girl child; when it is time, they should do likewise to her if I truly did it. I laid that curse,” he recounted.
The actor further alleged that someone had warned him about the situation before it unfolded.
