The Accord Party in Osun State has officially confirmed that Governor Ademola Adeleke has been successfully registered as its nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026, governorship election.
In a statement on Thursday in Osogbo, party chairman Pastor Victor Akande said the confirmation came after all documentation and submission procedures with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were completed. INEC now officially lists Adeleke as the Accord Party’s candidate for the upcoming election.
Akande described the milestone as a key step in the party’s election preparations.
“We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into INEC’s records as the Accord Party’s candidate,” he said.
The chairman added that the confirmation addresses any questions regarding the party’s nomination process ahead of the 2026 governorship contest. He emphasized that it reflects Accord Party’s full compliance with electoral guidelines and legal procedures.
“The confirmation by INEC is an affirmation that the nomination process has been duly concluded in accordance with the law,” Akande said.
He also expressed gratitude to the residents and party members across the state for their support since the beginning of the election preparations.
“We appreciate the overwhelming support, solidarity, and confidence reposed in the party and in Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people of Osun State,” Akande stated.
The chairman urged party supporters and all eligible voters to remain focused on the electoral process. He encouraged residents of voting age to ensure they are registered with INEC and have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the August 8, 2026, election.
