MC Oluomo’s Portraits Torn Down as Baruwa-Led NURTW Faction Seizes Secretariat {VIDEO}

A faction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) led by its factional president, Tajudeen Baruwa, has taken control of the union’s National Secretariat.

The development comes amid a prolonged leadership crisis within the union, which began over two years ago following a disputed delegates’ conference meant to produce new executives.

Despite the ongoing dispute, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had continued to operate from the secretariat.

However, on Monday, members of the Baruwa faction reportedly stormed the office and took over the facility. In a viral video circulating online, the group was seen removing and destroying portraits of MC Oluomo within the premises.

Fresh Allegations Emerge

In a separate development, a union figure, Ganiyu Oyedepo, also known as Koko Zaria, has levelled serious allegations against MC Oluomo.

In a viral video shared on social media, he accused his former associate of engaging in relationships with his wives and girlfriends. Speaking in Yoruba, Koko Zaria claimed his time working with MC Oluomo was filled with betrayal and emotional distress, alleging repeated breaches of trust.

He further stated that while he faced criticism from the public for perceived disloyalty, many were unaware of the personal challenges he claimed to have endured privately.

The unfolding events highlight the deepening divisions within the NURTW, as tensions continue to escalate between rival factions.
