UPDATE : Autopsy Confirms Cause of Death for Afrofuji Singer Destiny Boy

An autopsy has officially determined the cause of death of rising Afrofuji artist, Destiny Boy.

According to Naija News, the young singer passed away on January 17, 2026, under controversial circumstances that sparked public outrage and calls for a medical examination.

In the aftermath of his death, widely circulated social media videos appeared to show his body being transported to a mortuary, fueling speculation about the events leading to his demise.

An associate later attempted to address the situation in a separate video, stating that the artist had been dealing with a private health condition prior to his death.

“I felt the need to speak before false narratives begin to spread. We all come into this world to write our own story. May his soul rest in peace. Destiny Boy had been battling a health issue. We did our best, but unfortunately, he didn’t survive,” the individual said.

However, two months later, Daily Trust reported that the Police Homicide Section carried out an autopsy, with the findings released about a week ago.

Confirming the development, police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi disclosed that toxicology results revealed dangerous levels of tramadol and its metabolites, alongside methamphetamine, in the deceased’s system.

The report concluded that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis, resulting from the ingestion of these toxic substances. It also reaffirmed January 17, 2026, as the official date of death.
