Sowore: IGP Planned Murder Probe Against Davido During #EndSARS

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has alleged that Afrobeats star Davido stepped back from the #EndSARS protests after being threatened with a murder investigation.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Sowore claimed there were behind-the-scenes pressures that influenced the singer’s decision to withdraw from the movement. He explained that although #EndSARS had visible leaders, authorities were uncomfortable with figures they could not control.

Sowore noted that Davido was actively involved in meetings during the protests. However, the situation reportedly changed when the singer travelled to Abuja to meet with former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

According to Sowore, Davido was informed upon arrival that he was to be investigated over the alleged murder of one of his aides. This, he suggested, prompted the singer to distance himself from the protest movement.

In a related development, Davido recently revealed he has lost interest in pursuing a political career. Speaking during a livestream on Twitch, the “Unavailable” crooner said his perspective changed after observing how other entertainers fared in politics.

He explained that while he once seriously considered entering politics, he is now more cautious, noting that many celebrities who made the transition did not achieve the expected success.
