“Why I Sometimes Wish I Were a Man” – BBNaija Star Phyna Speaks on Women’s Stigma {VIDEO}

Big Brother Naija “Level Up” winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has opened up about the pressures women face, admitting that she sometimes wishes she were a man.

Speaking on her podcast, the reality star said societal expectations and stigma placed on women can be overwhelming, making life appear easier for men in comparison.

“I low-key wish I were a man. I feel it’s much easier for guys. As women, we face a lot of stigma, rules, and restrictions,” she said.

Phyna explained that while men are often judged mainly on their ability to succeed financially, women tend to face broader scrutiny over their choices, ambitions, and lifestyles. She added that such expectations can limit women and discourage them from pursuing their full potential.

Referencing her colleague Emmanuel Umoh, she noted that male BBNaija alumni appear to have an easier path when it comes to relationships and marriage, as they are less exposed to public criticism compared to their female counterparts.

The reality star has been vocal about her personal experiences in relationships. She previously shared that choosing to prioritise herself helped her find clarity and growth after difficult moments.

Phyna has also made headlines in the past over her views on dating, including her experiences in long-term relationships and her preferences when it comes to choosing a partner.
