The build-up to Chaos in the Ring 4 intensified this week as Nigerian entertainers Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, and Carter Efe exchanged heated words ahead of their celebrity boxing clash.
The bout is scheduled to take place at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Portable, who previously defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in exhibition fights, expressed confidence in extending his winning streak, boasting that he would easily defeat Efe.
However, Carter Efe dismissed Portable’s confidence, insisting the fight would be short-lived and predicting a quick knockout victory in his favour.
In the main event, fighters Ezra Arenyeka and Godday Appah also traded strong words ahead of their highly anticipated bout, described as a symbolic WBO Peace Fight representing unity between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities.
Appah declared he was focused on victory and warned his opponent would not last six rounds, while Arenyeka fired back, predicting he would end the fight even earlier.
The event will also feature international fighters, including Ghana’s Elvis Ahorgah and Newcastle’s Joe Laws, who added excitement to the pre-fight atmosphere with their own unique displays. British boxer Michael McKinson is also set to compete against Algerian prospect Mohammad Sahnoun.
Speaking on the event, Balmoral Group Promotions CEO, Ezekiel Adamu, said the fights go beyond entertainment, highlighting the platform as an opportunity to showcase African boxing talent to a global audience.
