Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has revealed that he is taking an indefinite break from releasing new music.
Speaking during a recent livestream with Davrel, the Afrobeats star told fans to stop expecting fresh songs anytime soon, explaining that he is currently on a musical sabbatical.
Davido stated that he does not feel pressured to constantly release music to remain relevant in the industry, insisting that many of his songs are still dominating playlists in clubs and entertainment spots.
The singer also shared his thoughts on the growing celebrity boxing scene in Nigeria, describing it as a positive and exciting development for the entertainment industry.
His comments come shortly after popular streamer Carter Efe defeated controversial singer Portable to become the latest champion of the Nigerian celebrity boxing tournament.
Following the loss, Portable had accused some of his colleagues in the music industry of lacking support for him, claiming many people in the industry dislike him.
