Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson sparked laughter during the promotional tour for the live-action Moana after misunderstanding an interview question and accidentally making a joke about his sex life.
During an appearance on Kiss FM, host Tyler West asked Johnson, who reprises his role as Maui, about his preferred swimming “stroke.” Mistaking the question for a s3xual one, the actor laughed before replying, “Domination.”
The misunderstanding quickly became clear when West explained he was referring to swimming. Realising his mistake, Johnson burst into laughter and admitted, “I just completely gave away my s3x life.”
Johnson later shared the clip on Instagram, joking that exhaustion from the film’s promotional tour had caused the mix-up. “Honestly thought he was asking about a different kind of ‘stroke’. Jesus… I need carbs. And sleep,” he wrote.
The humorous exchange quickly went viral, with fans praising Johnson for laughing at himself and embracing the awkward moment. The live-action Moana, starring Catherine Laga’aia as Moana alongside Johnson as Maui, is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 10, 2026.
