Former aspirant for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has officially withdrawn from the contest.
Naija News reports that Buba made the announcement in a statement shared via his Facebook page on Saturday.
The statement, titled “Re: Voluntary Withdrawal from the Race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives,” explained that the decision came after extensive consultations with family members, political allies, and key party stakeholders.
According to him, “Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately.
“This was not an easy decision, but it was accelerated by reconciliation efforts initiated by leaders and stakeholders within our party.”
Buba stated that stepping down was necessary to promote unity within the All Progressives Congress ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
He also appreciated Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the party leadership for giving him the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
“I want to thank the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, as well as the party leadership in Kaduna State, for allowing me to take part in the nomination process,” he said.
The former aspirant further appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful, united, and committed to supporting whoever eventually emerges as the party’s candidate.
His withdrawal comes amid public debate surrounding allegations of age falsification linked to conflicting documents circulating online, although no official charges or indictment have been brought against him.
Buba had recently appeared before APC screening officials, where he disclosed that he is 30 years old, the eldest of nine children, and joined the race following appeals from members of his community to represent them.
