Armed Robbers Invade Adamawa Poly Female Hostel, Steal Phones and Valuables

Armed robbers reportedly invaded the female hostel of the Numan Campus of Adamawa State Polytechnic, carting away about 15 mobile phones and other personal belongings belonging to students.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were armed with guns, knives, and cutlasses. Some students who attempted to resist the robbery were injured, while one reportedly fainted due to shock from the incident.

The attack was said to have occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, May 27, as Muslims were preparing for the Sallah celebration.

Distressed students have accused the school authorities of negligence, complaining about poor security on campus following the incident.

The Numan Campus, which is the second-largest campus of the institution after the main campus in Jimeta, Yola, was left shaken by the invasion.

Confirming the incident, the Polytechnic’s Information Officer, Albert Matila, said the management would visit the affected hostel to assess the situation and review the circumstances surrounding the attack.
