Aston Villa strengthened their push for a UEFA Champions League spot with an impressive 4-2 win over Liverpool in an entertaining Premier League clash on Friday night.
The crucial victory lifted Aston Villa into fourth place on the league table with just one game left to play, keeping the race for Champions League qualification wide open.
Unai Emery’s side delivered a ruthless attacking performance at Villa Park, with Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and John McGinn all getting on the scoresheet in a high-tempo encounter.

The home side capped off a dominant display in the 89th minute when McGinn unleashed a superb long-range effort into the top corner, sparking wild celebrations among the Villa Park faithful.
Liverpool managed to pull one back deep into stoppage time as Van Dijk grabbed his second goal of the night with another header, but it was not enough to inspire a late comeback.
Despite flashes of attacking threat from Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo, Arne Slot’s side struggled to contain Villa’s relentless pressure for most of the match.
The result marked another memorable night for Emery’s men, who now head into the final weekend of the campaign with a significant advantage in the battle for a top-four finish.
