Atiku’s Aide Urges DSS To Question Sunday Igboho Over Oyo School Kidnapping Claims

Paul Ibe, media aide to Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite Sunday Igboho to reveal the identities of those allegedly behind the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

In a post on X on Thursday, Ibe argued that if Igboho possesses credible information about the kidnappers, security agencies should engage him and use the information to aid efforts aimed at rescuing the victims.

The call follows recent remarks by Igboho during a meeting with members of the National Association of Nigerian Students, where he claimed to know politicians allegedly linked to the kidnappings and warned that he would expose them if the incidents continued.

Reacting to the claim, Ibe said every available option should be considered to speed up the safe release of the abducted students and teachers.

He also questioned the response of the administration of Bola Tinubu to the reported abduction of more than 50 schoolchildren in Mussa last month.

According to Ibe, the Federal Government has remained silent on the Borno incident, raising concerns about whether victims in other parts of the country receive the same level of attention. He further asked when vulnerable states such as Borno would receive additional security measures, including the deployment of forest guards, to tackle rising insecurity.

Ibe maintained that proactive action is needed to address the growing security challenges across the country rather than waiting for tragedies to occur before responding.
