BREAKING : Makinde Restricts Nighttime Motorcycle Operations to Tackle Insecurity in Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has signed an Executive Order restricting motorcycle operations across the state between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of efforts to address growing security concerns.

Announcing the directive on Friday, the governor said the measure forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of the teachers and schoolchildren recently abducted in the state.

Makinde emphasized that his administration remains deeply concerned about the victims, noting that each day they spend in captivity brings pain to their families and the wider Oyo community.

He reassured residents that security agencies and government officials are working tirelessly to secure the release of those kidnapped, describing the situation as one of the administration’s most pressing concerns.

According to the governor, although the government cannot reveal all details of the ongoing operations due to security reasons, significant efforts are being made behind the scenes to resolve the crisis.

Makinde urged residents not to interpret the government’s silence as a lack of action, insisting that the abducted victims have neither been forgotten nor abandoned.
