Bruno Fernandes breaks Premier League assists record for a single season

Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, has broken the record for the most assists in a single Premier League season.

Fernandes achieved the feat after he set up Patrick Dorgu’s goal against Brighton on the final day of the campaign.

It was the Portugal midifielder’s 21st assist in the top flight this campaign.

He has now surpassed the record of 20 set by Thierry Henry for Arsenal in 2002/03 and Kevin De Bruyne for Manchester City in 2019/20.

Fernandes equalled the record when they defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1 last weekend, setting up Bryan Mbeumo for Man Utd’s third goal.

He was named Premier League Player of the Season on Saturday, following on from his FWA Footballer of the Year award.
