The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Mike Ozekhome (SAN) over his alleged involvement in a disputed United Kingdom property case widely referred to as the “Tali Shani affair.” TheCable understands that Ozekhome was arrested shortly after a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court struck out a forgery charge previously filed against him. He is expected to be charged to court imminently. World Economic Forum President and CEO Borge Brende has resigned after reports surfaced that he had exchanged emails and text messages with convicted s£x offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a statement, Forum Co-Chairs Andre Hoffmann and Larry Fink said Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim chief and president. The Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, Oyo State Command, has arrested a visitor who attempted to smuggle suspected hard drugs into the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Agodi, Ibadan. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olanrewaju Anjorin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.  Mr. Anjorin said the male visitor was apprehended during routine security checks conducted on visitors and their belongings at the facility’s entrance. A family has announced the funeral of ten members who lost their lives in a motor accident while returning from Christmas celebrations  The victims, Chidi Ejimnkeonye, a Nigeria Customs Service officer, his wife, Ijeoma, their four children, and four other relatives, were involved in the accident along the Loko-Nasarawa road. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has issued fresh guidelines regulating the award and use of honorary doctorate degrees in Nigeria, citing growing concerns over indiscriminate conferment and misuse of such honours. A United States district court has sentenced Paulinus Iheanacho Okoronkwo, a former general manager at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (now NNPC Limited), to 87 months in prison for receiving a $2.1 million bribe linked to oil drilling rights in Nigeria. Okoronkwo, 58, a dual citizen of Nigeria and the United States of America, was convicted over a payment made by Addax Petroleum, a subsidiary of China’s state-owned energy giant, Sinopec. In a statement issued on the website of the US Department of Justice, the United States government on Monday, February 23, said the trial judge, John F.
