Chief Priest Officially Pick APC Forms for House of Representatives Bid

Celebrity businessman Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Chief Priest, has declared his intention to contest for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 elections.

He is set to run under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has already obtained the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms for the House of Representatives race.

In a related development, the businessman recently sparked reactions online after sharing his views on the influence of social media in politics. According to him, popularity on social platforms does not necessarily translate into electoral success.

He argued that politicians who receive widespread praise online often struggle at the polls, while those who face criticism tend to perform better during elections.

Citing Desmond Elliot as an example, Chief Priest noted that despite past backlash on social media, the lawmaker still secured electoral victory.

He made the remarks via his Instagram story, emphasising that online sentiment does not always reflect actual voting outcomes.
