Details Emerge From PDP Meeting With Governor Makinde

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), paid a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday.
The visit focused on the recent security challenges in the state, particularly the abduction of some schoolchildren and teachers by suspected bandits, according to reports from naijanews.com⁠�.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Turaki conveyed the PDP leadership’s sympathy to the Oyo State government and residents, while praising the state’s response so far. He also called on the Federal Government to strengthen the security framework by granting state governors more operational authority to better protect lives and property.
Governor Makinde, in his response, thanked the delegation for their solidarity, describing the PDP as a party that stands by its members in difficult times. He noted that the visit demonstrated true friendship during moments of crisis.
He assured the delegation that the government is taking all necessary steps to address the situation and prevent future occurrences, adding that although the incident had caused distress, residents remained united in the fight against insecurity.
The delegation included senior party figures such as Sen. Adolphus Wabara, Dr Daniel Woyengikuro, Richard Ihediwa, Daniel Obiechina, Hon. Wale Aribisala, Dr Abdu Bulama, Ibrahim Abdullahi, and Comrade Ini Ememobong.
