Former NAWOJ Chair, Adesuwa Ehimuan, Enters Edo Assembly Contest

Former chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Adesuwa Ehimuan, has officially declared her ambition to represent Oredo East in the Edo State House of Assembly during the 2027 general elections.

Announcing her intention on Friday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, Ehimuan revealed she will be seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

She explained that her decision to contest stems from a strong desire to deliver effective and people-focused representation to the constituents of Oredo East. According to her, the area deserves purposeful leadership that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of its residents.

Ehimuan pledged to make governance more accessible to the people and ensure they benefit meaningfully from democratic dividends. She emphasized her commitment to inclusive representation, promising to prioritize the interests of youths, women, and the elderly.

She also noted that her background in public communication, advocacy, and community engagement would position her to highlight the constituency’s needs and drive development initiatives that benefit all.
