FUOYE SUG President Faces Fresh Controversy Over Alleged Leaked Video {VIDEO}

The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), James Iyanuoluwa Adio, has become the subject of public attention following reports of an alleged private video circulating online.

The development emerged shortly after Adio was suspended by the university management alongside two other senior student officials over allegations bordering on the unauthorised collection of funds from students.

Reports claim that the alleged video was recorded by a female student, though details surrounding the incident remain unclear and no official confirmation has been released by relevant authorities.

The controversy comes days after FUOYE announced Adio’s suspension over allegations involving a ₦1,000 levy reportedly collected from 100-level students without approval. The university stated that investigations were ongoing, with claims that Adio was linked to part of the funds.

According to the institution, the alleged action was inconsistent with its commitment to transparency and accountability on campus.

The reported video controversy has generated reactions from students and social media users, with some calling for accountability while others urged caution and advised against making conclusions before investigations are completed.

Adio, who recently emerged as SUG President from the Department of Computer Science, has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.

The university has also not issued an official statement regarding the reported video, as stakeholders await further clarification from authorities.

The situation has renewed discussions about leadership standards, student representation, and the responsibilities expected of elected campus officials.
