The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has stated that Nigeria’s next president ahead of the 2027 general elections has already been determined by God.
Speaking during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye emphasized that the outcome of the election ultimately rests in divine hands, not solely on human effort.
According to him, “The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will prevail.”
He urged Nigerians not to be overly anxious about political developments, noting that God remains in control of the nation’s future. While encouraging civic participation, he stressed that faith and prayer should remain central as the country approaches the 2027 elections.
Adeboye also addressed remarks attributed to activist Omoyele Sowore, who reportedly described him and other clerics as fathers of Christians in Nigeria. The RCCG leader rejected the label, clarifying that he sees himself only as a spiritual father within his denomination.
He added that the leadership of Christians nationwide lies with the Christian Association of Nigeria, whose president serves as the representative of the Christian community.
On claims linking RCCG to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adeboye dismissed the notion, insisting the church is not politically aligned. He maintained that while politicians are free to attend services, they are not allowed to use the altar for political campaigns.
