Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has been recognised as one of the standout performers of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season after UEFA released its final Player of the Match rankings.
The Nigerian striker finished joint-top on the leaderboard with four Player of the Match awards, matching the achievements of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé and Francisco Trincão.
The awards, selected by UEFA’s Technical Observer Group after each match, honour the most influential player on the pitch and are presented immediately after the game.
Osimhen’s impressive performances were instrumental in helping Galatasaray progress to the Round of 16 after overcoming Juventus in the knockout play-off stage. Their European campaign eventually came to an end against Liverpool, who advanced with a 4-1 aggregate victory.
The 27-year-old claimed his first award in Galatasaray’s 1-0 win over Liverpool on Matchday Two. He added further honours following standout displays against Bodø/Glimt and Ajax, before securing his fourth accolade in the second leg of the knockout play-off tie against Juventus.
Despite Galatasaray’s eventual elimination after a 3-2 extra-time defeat, Osimhen’s individual brilliance earned him recognition as the game’s best player.
Only four other players reached the same total of four Player of the Match awards during the campaign. Kvaratskhelia was pivotal to Paris Saint-Germain’s title-winning run, while Kane, Mbappé and Trincão also delivered a series of decisive performances for their respective clubs.
In the Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Vitinha earning the Player of the Match award.
UEFA’s final Player of the Match standings ended with Kvaratskhelia, Kane, Osimhen, Mbappé and Trincão sharing first place with four awards each.
