The Police Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled April 28 to 30, 2026, for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) for candidates involved in the ongoing police recruitment exercise.
The test will be conducted nationwide across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, serving as a key stage in the recruitment process.
Reports indicate that the CBT will follow the ongoing physical and credentials screening exercise, which is expected to conclude on April 18. The outcome of the test will play a major role in determining candidates’ eligibility for enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement released by the Sokoto State Police Command, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, described the aptitude test as a vital step in ensuring that only qualified candidates are selected.
He noted that the duration of the test may vary from state to state, depending on the number of applicants and the availability of functional CBT centres. While some states may complete the process in a day, others could use the full three-day period.
Rufa’i assured applicants that the scheduling is flexible to accommodate different conditions across states, adding that all eligible candidates will be given a fair chance to participate.
He also urged candidates to remain patient and wait for official updates regarding test venues and shortlisted applicants. Additionally, he warned against relying on unverified sources, emphasizing that all information related to the recruitment exercise will be communicated through official channels.
The command further stated that a dedicated contact line has been made available to handle enquiries and ensure smooth communication throughout the recruitment process.
