PSG Edge Bayern to Book Champions League Final Clash with Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain have secured a place in the UEFA Champions League final after battling to a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their semifinal at the Allianz Arena.

Managed by Luis Enrique, PSG advanced 6-5 on aggregate, having claimed a thrilling 5-4 victory in the first leg in Paris. The result sets up a final showdown with Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.

Ousmane Dembélé gave PSG the lead with a sharp first-time finish, assisted by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after a brilliant run and cutback. The assist saw Kvaratskhelia make history as the first player to register a goal involvement in seven straight knockout games in a single Champions League season, drawing level with Kylian Mbappé on 16 goal contributions.

The match was not without controversy, as Bayern players protested multiple handball decisions involving Nuno Mendes and João Neves, with no VAR review appearing to take place.

Despite dominating late on, Bayern could only manage a consolation goal through Harry Kane in the closing moments, falling just short in their pursuit of another historic treble.

Both teams had been among the most prolific in the tournament, with PSG and Bayern scoring 43 and 42 goals respectively — a record feat in the competition’s expanded format.

Meanwhile, Arsenal booked their place in the final with a 1-0 victory over Atlético Madrid, sealing a 2-1 aggregate win over Diego Simeone’s side.
