
A man allegedly st@bbed his friend to d3ath in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Ika Newspaper, which reported the incident on Saturday, May 9, 2026, said the incident followed a violent confrontation reportedly involving suspected members of rival cult groups.
The clash which occurred late on Sunday, May 3, around Ime-Obi Junction in Agbor, involved suspected members of a confraternity.
Eyewitnesses said the confrontation reportedly began over a minor disagreement, which later escalated into a v!@lent altercation.
During the incident, Marvin was alleged to have st@bbed “40” on the hand, while Owen sustained a severe st@b wound and reportedly took to his heels.
Sources said Owen later gave up the ghost while being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Residents familiar with the individuals involved disclosed that the parties were reportedly close friends, raising concerns that the tragic incident could have been avoided.
The development has sparked fears of possible reprisal att@cks and heightened tension among residents, amid concerns over a potential escalation of violence between rival groups in the area.
Security agencies are expected to intensify surveillance and monitoring around Agbor and its environs, while residents have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid actions capable of worsening the situation.
Meanwhile, angry youths reportedly set ablaze the family house of the alleged suspect, Marvin, shortly after news of the incident spread.
