Real Madrid ready to battle Barcelona for Victor Osimhen report says

Real Madrid and Barcelona are preparing for a major transfer battle over Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer 2026 window.

Both La Liga giants have intensified their interest in the Nigerian forward, who has maintained exceptional form at Galatasaray since making his move to Turkey permanent.

Osimhen has been a force this season, contributing significantly to Galatasaray’s domestic and European campaigns. His physical presence and clinical finishing have reaffirmed his status as one of the most elite strikers in world football.

According to reports from Fotomaç, Real Madrid views Osimhen as the ideal traditional number nine to lead their attack. The strategic goal is to utilize the Nigerian international as a central focal point, which would allow Kylian Mbappé to shift to his preferred position on the left wing.

However, securing his services will not be cheap, as Galatasaray is expected to demand at least €100 million for their talisman. Real Madrid is currently evaluating player departures to generate the necessary funds while maintaining financial stability.

Barcelona, meanwhile, is searching for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, whose tenure at the club is nearing its conclusion.

The Catalan side sees Osimhen as a primary target to lead their line for the foreseeable future.

While sporting director Deco is a known admirer of the striker, Barcelona faces the challenge of competing with Madrid’s financial resources.

Despite the mounting interest from Spain, Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek recently emphasized that Osimhen’s contract does not contain a simple release clause, signaling that any potential suitor will need to negotiate a record-breaking fee to lure the striker away from Istanbul.
