Speculation has surfaced online suggesting that the wife of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo may be pregnant.
The reports gained attention following remarks made by the traditional ruler of Arochukwu in Abia State during funeral activities held in honour of the deceased actor.
As Alex Ekubo’s remains arrived in his hometown ahead of his burial, the funeral procession reportedly stopped at the palace of the Eze Aro of Arochukwu, where prayers were offered for the late actor and his family.
During the prayer session, the monarch expressed hope that Alex Ekubo’s lineage would continue and referenced reports that the actor’s wife was expecting a child. He further prayed that the unborn child would surpass the achievements of his father.
“The child we hear she is carrying will achieve even greater things than his father,” the traditional ruler reportedly said.
Although the statement has generated widespread reactions on social media, neither Alex Ekubo’s family nor his representatives have officially confirmed the pregnancy claim.
The development has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians celebrating the possibility of a child carrying on the actor’s legacy, while others argued that such personal information should remain private.
